School’s almost out and it's prime time for potty training!
Potty training in the summer can be perfect timing for many families:
So with that in mind, if your child is showing signs of potty readiness, and you don't know how to start, I'm offering some fantastic summer deals.
The parent coaching deal isn't specifically focussed on potty training, however sometimes this milestone can stir up a lot of emotions within our toddler (and ourselves). If this is the case, I am happy to offer some techniques to help you find your parenting groove again.

Recently, I've noticed some new followers, so I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.
My name is Laura and I am a mom to two boys in the Forest City in Canada. I (like so many of us) adore tiny humans, well most humans actually. Unlike most people, I chose a super small program at university; I studied Childhood as a Social Construct. The basic idea is that children are humans….active agents in their own right. That the idea of needing to treat them differently is wrong, that they are simply humans, with less experience on this blue marble.
Many (sigh) years later, I met Carol Peat of Babies Naturally, and heard her referring to a baby as a tiny human. It stopped me in my tracks. Outside of my academic pursuits (and personal relationships), I've never heard people speak this way. I chose to study with her to become a perinatal support practitioner (doula) and parent educator. I truly adore bearing witness and providing support to people as they become families. It is so much more than many think, it truly changes a mother's BRAIN and a partner’s way of viewing and participating in the world.
Then comes the poop.
I learned quickly that potty training is a challenge that most parents feel lost on. Like all things parenting, you can find so many conflicting ideas online. It can make even the most zen parent doubt themselves. Why??? I think it's because innately, we know that it is a huge milestone and we don't want to screw it up. Yes it is a huge milestone, and that's why I choose to provide all the best information and support so YOU can feel confident and get that sh*t done. In essence, the potty support I provide is just one facet of parent education. It's learning how not to be triggered, learning how to be firm AND kind, drawing the line between assertive and aggressive, reflecting the facts...it's giving you a toolbox for a very specific issue, that the roots of can be used for every situation.
To sum up...I love humans, big and small and I especially love helping get them back to themselves, which can be tough when you scraping poop out of a highchair.
In honour of moms (and moms-to-be) everywhere, I'm hosting a fantastic GIVEAWAY.
"Pregnancy Instruction Manual" by Sarah Jordan is a book all expecting people need in their life.
A quirky and lighthearted "manual" on how to best navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy. This book is a riot and would make a great gift for Mother's Day.
